BOOKS

My favourite authors - currently - are Bernard Cornwell and Douglas Reeman (who also writes as Alexander Kent).

I do all of my reading in bed, last thing at night. I'm not sure this is such a good recommendation...but it's the way things are. I do try other writers periodically, in the hopes that I'll find another favourite.

I used to like Wilbur Smith's work, and I still read his older novels avidly. I tried his latest a while ago - THOSE IN PERIL - but was not desperately impressed. He may have written it specifically for the American market. He is certainly a very fine writer with an almost staggering imagination, and he probably doesn't give two hoots what I think. And why should he? He's chuckling all the way to the bank.

I have also read most of Andy McNab, Desmond Bagley, Michael Chrichton and Allister Maclean, among many others.

Just in case it means anything to the price of wet fish, I will, in time, give more in-depth details of the stuff I read. Maybe you are also on the lookout for another good read!
