FOOD and DINING

Nothing global about this page...it's purely local to Cornwall, with no pretentions at all.

I know absolutely nothing about nouvelle cuisine, and I want to know even less. I have had some. It resembled a matchbox-sized blob of something or other, and was dribbled with red stuff. The main thing was that I was actually hungry at the time! I was still hungry when we left that high-class establishment, looking for the nearest Fish and Chip shop.

Yes, I am a culinary moron!

So, cuisine aficionados need read no further...

If you're still here...and, if you happen to be in Cornwall...

Talking about fish and chips..."Port and Starboard" restaurant in Indian Queens can hardly be bettered! It's our fortnightly F-and-C stop. And I have tried just about every F-and-C establishment in the county. (2018 Update: P&S has recently changed hands, and is now a bog-standard Fish and Chip shop! - Very sad.)

Or how about: "Smokey Joe's" in Scorrier? Great food, well presented, and in quantities that could choke a donkey! You'll need nap after a visit to "Smokey Joe's".

There is also The Garden Centre in Goonhavern. The eating place is called "The Bay Tree" And I wouldn't mention it here if it wasn't right up there with the best.

I don't take prisoners where food is concerned. And I have the waistline to prove it!
